Ethan, our Executive Director in Training, and Soha, our Finance Director in Training spoke at the White House AA and NHPI Mental Health Convening Listening Session on “Centering Community Voices.” They were also joined by members of the leadership team: Taryn, Reed, and Camille. AYR is excited to announce that we will be included in an Asian American ethnic studies textbook program by Gibbs Smith Education, edited by Jenna Tait. The textbook will be available in e-book format, hard copy textbooks, and teacher materials (25,000 print copies and 15,000 digital copies offered in two languages).
The TAAF AAPI History Hub has launched! AAPI Youth Rising is a proud partner of the TAAF AAPI History Hub. Our One Day of AAPI History lesson will continue to reach many others. Check out the hub here!!
Asian Americans Advancing Justice needs bilingual volunteers to support our API Voter Hotline for the 2024 Presidential Election leading up to Election Day on November 5th! Learn more and sign up here!
NAAPIMHA is grateful to have the opportunity to offer two different FREE virtual election season spaces for folks looking to process their thoughts, emotions, and anxieties, and center their mental health during this election season. There are Facilitated Wellness During Election Season Listening Sessions and Monthly Vote for Wellness Check-in Spaces. Check out the dates at those links!

On October 9th, The White House Initiative and President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders Announces Helen Beaudreau as New Executive Director! We got a chance to meet with Helen at the White House Initiative on AANHPI Policy Summit! She's excited to continue partnering with AYR.

AAPI Youth Rising October Monthly Meeting
October 24th, 6 PM to 7 PM PST (Please note date change due to holiday)│Virtual
The first 15 minutes will be for announcements and updates, and then we will have special guest Denise M. Oki, from the Federal Trade Commission, and White House Initiative on AANHPI Regional Representative joining us to talk about WHIAANHPI 101 and the Regional Networks. This will be very informational and it is mandatory.

Themed “Roots & Routes: Making Your Mark”, our inaugural summit is a partnership with Gold House and will feature speakers and panelists Bobby Hundreds, Payal Kadakia, Amy Liu, Ellen Chen, Ted Wu, Ron Escopete, Sherry Cola, Tiffany Yang, and Gold House panelists: Sean Malto, Twaydabae, and Pia Barlow, as well as a networking fair targeting the latest opportunities and trends. Students can take this one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn about themselves AND connect with leaders, creators and innovators who are there just for you. This is an event unlike any other speaker event or career fair you’ve attended, don’t miss out!

AYR is invited to join the inaugural GWA Women in STEM Groundbreakers Award Dinner. Come and celebrate the remarkable women leading the charge in STEM worldwide, and meet the GWA 2024 Fellows poised to make their mark from around the globe. Be part of this inspiring evening as we honor four extraordinary individuals and organizations breaking barriers and shaping the future.

Kudos to middle school lead Hudson Lee and Eloise who spearheaded the AAPI Youth Rising art takeover event for United Against Hate Week. We shared art from AYR chapter leaders about identity and why it’s important to celebrate our diversity.
Kudos to Ethan for speaking at The Commonwealth Club of California: United Against Hate Day with producer Michelle Meow on the "Navigating Our Differences through Civic Engagement" panel alongside Bay Area elected leaders and CUAV during the United Against Hate Day Summit.
Kudos to Mina and Matthew for speaking on the White House Initiative on AANHPI Policy Summit in Washington, D.C on the Youth Changemakers: Advancing Mental Health in our Communities panel.
Kudos to Matthew, Mia, Hudson, and Charlee for being interviewed for Dr. Jeung’s upcoming textbook about Asian American movements. AYR is the last chapter in the textbook. Also for participating in TikToks.

Kudos to Eloise for organizing a May 2025 presentation of our history lesson. It’s never too early to schedule a teach-in.
