Kudos:

  • Kudos to Taryn and Johann for presenting at the third annual Equity in Mental Health Symposium on October 16, 2024. They shared about AAPI Youth Rising’s history, goals, and accomplishments, including their advocacy in mental health. They led a workshop discussing the meaning of community and explored aspects of culture and identity that can sometimes become a barrier to seeking mental health support.

  • Kudos to Mina and Charlee for attending the OCA (Organization of Chinese Americans) San Mateo 2024 Asian American Achievement Awards. AAPI Youth Rising was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate for the 2024 Community Partner Award with OCA San Mateo. Mina introduced honoree Russell Jeung and she and Charlee got to chat with the president of OCA San Mateo Aimee Yan and eat a lot of delicious food.
